the first release sees the dj producer going head to head with bong ra in a collaboration that is just too much. it starts off with >the abominable<, a track that is insane in every way. heavy hardcore kicks combined with destructive jungle breaks is something only this duo can combine! sitting firm on the edge of hardcore, breakcore and dnb like only these 2 can. >bloodclot techno< is something totally different.. this one focusses more on the jungle/break core side of things but combined with almost terminator esque vibes. definably an epic production if there ever was one!

a welcome return to dmx krew, simply one of the uks finest producers ! sounds like analord turned up to 11 ! ed dmx reminds us all hes still number one when it comes to beautiful, esoteric electronic music. still aimed squarely at the dancefloor, ed provides us with a really strong and, as always, diverse package with something for everyone...

this fall dumb unit returns with what is sure to become a household name in electronica: thomas feriero aka avatism. known recently for his moody releases on labels such as mike shannon s haunt and tiefschwarz s souvenir, his dark yet hopeful productions are already receiving plaudits by some of the scenes top artists. opening the doors to new musical members has not been a common occurrence at du which therefore means that this release must be something special indeed. and it is. dark, brooding yet full of energy and substance. all tracks hit with a welcome hint of catchiness and hooks embracing what is current in dance music today, without losing sight of the label or the artists individuality. 4 quality tracks of equal stature command full attention on this ep. one of the the labels most exciting releases to date and one which signifies a strong 2012 ahead!

the next ep on germany s hello? repeat imprint comes from seuil, one of paris s most inspired underground producers. in terms of style, it is a match that could hardly be more perfect. hello? repeat has spent the past six years carving a niche for itself with eps from cabanne, audio werner and label co-founder daze maxim, plus acclaimed albums by bruno pronsato and kate simko. seuil, meanwhile, has put out a steady stream of ultra-deep 12-inches on labels like freak n chic and sammy dees ultrastretch. both specialize in a sound that is modern, understated and hypnotic. late call is exactly what its name suggests: a record made for the deepest, most tender portion of the night. the drums are slick and punchy, but the rest is woozy and romantic–this is one to put on when the crowd has stopped chatting and everyone s dancing with their eyes closed. topping it off is a vocal line made famous by diana ross but recited here by an androgynous diva: if you need me, call me, no matter where you are, no matter how far… dark, trippy and weirdly moving, this is one of seuil s finest tracks yet. >slow motion< strikes a similar chord but with a more subtle approach. here you notice seuil s rare touch for subtlety: in the absence of any real >hook<, he keeps the track moving with expertly sculpted drums, a warm half-melody and a gently propulsive beat. soft chords sustain in the background to create a balmy summer night feel. both tracks show seuil and hello? repeat doing what they do best: delivering something deep, functional and full of character.

düsseldorf based sello is producer treading creative end of the deep house spectrum. after the great feedbacks received on his ep debut on neovinyl and his latest work on wazi wazi, he is back in bussinnes with - feel this -. enter the universe of sello and explore two new tunes by the master of deep feelings! simply quality.

coeter one shows two tracks in perfect style of the label. nutempo vinyl records means high-quality of minimal techno. sounds clean, modern and dark. repetitiveness that joins cadenced rhythms, perfect for the dancefloor. never boring and always something unexpected. the remix of >dreesch< signed by veteran mike wall (der hut, aspekt, eins plus, etc.) is decidedly more techno, sounds coming from deep, riffs that seem to remember an old school .. but fresh and strong. the version of >lankow< signed dubit (eminor) is essential and deliberately directed to the dancefloor in the darkest moments.

kevin gorman isnt a man of many releases, but when he does release something, its always spot on. his last release was on ostgut ton, thanks to ben klock. he also has his own label, mikrowave, and already did remixes for cocoon, clr, skint etc. >cast< is a real techno bomb, just like the jonas kopp remix on the flip. not for the faint of heart!

summer has all but gone as the darkness draws in, the clocks go back, and fina records releases something a little different for the night owls. cosmic dutch space cadets morning factory step up for fina 005 with a slow motion rhythm and tone ep. having previously appeared for yore records and brother from another mother 2020 vision, the guys have been busy in the windmill whittling a perfect autumn release. sultans of swing ep doesnt quite shadow dire straits but it certainly delivers. hypnotic title track of the same name is features futureproof basslines, layered with an enigmatic drowning echo-led synth while >lady< adds a different finish to the wax. here we find d angelo s 96 vocal hook effortlessly breaking through the shuffling punchy bass.

chicagos ricardo miranda makes his debut for the ace stilove4music label, maintaining a fine year in which he has already dropped some serious heat on rush hour sub-label hour house is your rush and his own noble square imprint. title track >102point7< is all jagged synths, throbbing arpeggios, slashing claps and a rolling acid groove, marking it out as one of his most incendiary productions to date. on the flip >rotary cells< is deeper still, a 909-led jacker with undulating layers of sub bass augmented by a wonderfully woozy vocal which extols the virtues of true chicago house. this is followed by >greenline<, a stripped back jam with scuttling hats and the kind of paranoid synth melody that wouldnt sound out of place in jeff mills something in the sky series. this is dark, raw, pulsating dance music - highly recommended.

out of an 8.8 earthquake, riots and severe illness comes one of the most joyful records of the year. brian gibbs aka echo park has had a colourful life to say the least, living and making music in l.a., tokyo, madrid, mexico city and now santiago, chile where he lives with his young family. previously a producer of dark hip hop and dub, a series of disasters made him confront mortality and decide it was time to make the music that is closest to his heart: luscious, sunshine-infused electro-funk full of laid back attitude and real songs. skream has always been a lover of disco, boogie and electro – as anyone who has heard one of his specialist sets or his slick n sleazy remix of chromeo will know. it took just one hearing of brians first echo park tracks via a mutual friend to snap them up for disfigured dubz. in fact he has chosen echo park for the first full album on the label… but first comes this killer single, a shmoooove bit of vocoder funk that sets the tone for echo parks twin obsessions with technology and romance. bundled with it are a gutbusting ravemonster of a rework by 12th planet & flinch that somehow still keeps the soul of the track intact, and jon convex taking it way underground with a deeper-than-deep analogue techno version. there is something for everyone here and this is just the beginning.

the proposition is a simple one. it was a 2009 when julio bashmore first remixed >heartbreaker< from deadboys classic first release - the >u cheated< ep on well rounded.
he remoulded the garage template of the original into something more immediate, replacing the swung off-beats of the original with driving forward-rhythms and a clarity of purpose that takes absolutely nothing away from the musical impact of the original. this circulated on mp3 and we smiled and danced.
unexpectedly, in 2010 jb returned to >heartbreaker< for a different interpretation. this time around a more haunting approach was the order of the day with cross-fading strings creating a soulful, otherworldly atmosphere. the drop this time also swapped sub bass for punchy 808s. a tantalising further alternative that pointed the way to this vinyl release.

played and supported by regis, norman nodge, luke slater, jonas kopp, perc, dvs1, samuli kemppi, adam x, dimi angelis, jeroen search, markus suckut, rolando, pfirter, slam, edit-select, cassegrain, par grindvick, audio injection, tim xavier, drumcell and more. the m_rec ltd, has become one of the most interesting labels in the world techno scene after only eight releases. labels owner is max m! this time he shows an original track, pure sound signed m_rec ltd. a journey with a very deep sound. something that comes from his background, a walk through detroit, birmingham and berlin. a rhythm that is not heavy, repetitive riff that nullifies any inhibitions. it s definitely evil, its a reminder of the deep and pure techno.the first remix is signed by shifted (mote evolver)! one of britains most important artists on the scene. the sound becomes more intense and repetitive. the rhythm takes on a form of drum and hi-hat, classic techno. effects on riffs, amplify everything and they turn the track into a totally hypnotic pleasure. ascion (repitch / drumcode / synewave) is the artist of the second remix. being a promising youngster he has now become a reality. the sound is industrial, but without a heavy rhythm, more like background noises. reverb and effects that cancel themselves suddenly. the riff from far away is almost unrecognizable. a version definitely carefully devised and researched.

gary beck teams up with house legend and personal hero mr. g on their first col- laboration together. their efforts highlight both producers uncanny ability to create something that is instantly recognizable while distinctly individual. >all my people< brings a true and unadulterated house sound with a swaggering vocal sample and straight, crisp and assertive percussion. mark broom returns for his second appearance on bek audio with >stag<. steady, rol- ling techno shows the darker, head-down side of the bek imprint and marks produc- tions. intense percussion builds with the addition of a haunting synth leading to the break. stripped back to the bones the track jumps in with powerful effect.

edit king leo zero returns with something very special to kick off a new run of no frills dancefloor bombs that have been tried and tested over the summer on a packed worldwide dj schedule from stockholm to tokyo and beyond. first up is an intensive slice and dice exercise on probably the best track from definitely the best band in the world: the clash. leo takes their most disco friendly outing >the maginificent dance< famously spun by mr levan at the garage - and with the more dubby rare levan version he homes in on looped 1 bar sections, skating along to create a new arrangement - added to the brew are bootleg recordings form the clashes infamous live show at nycs bonds ballroom, and even some baseline demos digitally siphoned from people practicing guitar along to the clash on youtube!….. we are left with is an epic labour of love edit that has already found its way into the a-listers record boxes - from derrick carter to laurent garnier who are all spinning this solid as a rock dub disco bomb. on the flip we have a classy house re-work of al hudson & partners >music< which sticks a chi-town kick and snare up its rear end along with some serious sub bass, and in the middle things get all wobbly with some trademark leo zero space echo rides and before we are quickly warped back-in and onto the floor… big with a load of top jocks too including severino of horse meat disco fame.

this ep was formed with a concept in mind that involves a natural phenomenon occurring in various / different fields of science and nature - anti-parallelism. as the word suggests, anti-parallelism describes the natural relationship between two occurrences, objects or even non-material things, that are virtually identical and yet oriented in different directions. during the time the music was made i was researching natural phenomenons like this one. naturally, this became part of the nucleus, fabric and inspiration for this work. in genetics, for example, if the >antiparallelity< is corrupted during the process of dna replication it is called a mutation. this mutation can be anything from totally inconsequential to critical for the survival of the whole living organism. a double helix of dna contains two helixes, that are naturally anti-parallel to one another. in physics this could be two of the same objects moving through space and time in opposite directions - just like the instruments or parts of a beat in electronic music production. so metaphorically speaking, anti-parallelism holds a natural balance to keep it safe and stable. although this might sound all very conceptual and theoretical this music is obviously just what it is - it is not intended to teach math, physics or biology in any way. the above mentioned aspect has simply found its way through my head and might have led to a piece of music that somehow, at least for me, is connected to these thoughts. it might evoke something very different for you

basic fingers is back with their third release! this time we are giving you two strong remixes from los angeles based dj & producer jose marquez. his sound has often been described as a fusion of deep afro-latin soul and percussive dancefloor rhythms, something perfectly showcased on this release.

stefan schutz aka juno6 belongs to the society of the leipzig new school, which for the last 5 years has cut a path through emotions and change in diverse regions. his particular real estate is comfortably between deeper house and thoroughly scrutinized techno. sometimes he tends in one direction, at other times the opposite. all the while juno6 captivates both listeners and dancers alike with something new. his live sets are always an occasion – sound expeditions in the most literal sense embedded powerfully, yet imminently fresh as they are bound to tradition. he even dials up the the ambient/electronic field with project beautiful planet earth, or together with friend daniel stefanik as sensual. the sonic awareness of juno6 is expressed consistently as a potent degree of warmth, which paints a distinct lively and long-lasting tone on club music. the tone is hardly useful as a flavor of the month, but rather, a music with stamina and character. his track >guununk< is for more than a few the quiescent highlight of the fat 5zig compilation. on his second from fat, he displays the juno6 portfolio fully and expands his present effect with a portion of funkiness and a sprinkle of pop – at least on one of the cuts. with clever vocals mr. schulz informs us yet again.

after a short production break, the russian techno duo easy changes (denis cast & kilrill silas) are back with a 12 inch on the berlin/london based label, mean records, run by cesare marchese (cesare vs disorder) & federico benedetti (onirik). the lion is also a good drummer fits in nicely with the labels love of minimal techno productions that feature original sounds, moody melodies and deep aural landscapes. easy changes gained recognition in 2007 with two back to back hit releases on foundsound records. in 2009, they were the first ep from nervmusic, a moscow based label that focuses on unconventional techno started by cast, silas and friends. seated comfortably between the avant-garde and the dancefloor, the release has something for everyone. the title track, the lion is also a good drummer is an epic, crawling minimal techno production filled with stripped down percussion and abstract found sounds perfect for after-hours. on the flipside is the uptempo, quirky and tribal burlesque, replete with spliced vocal samples, snares, cymbals, bleeps and claps. for the burlesque remix, french producer doubtingthomas shows off his lifelong obsession with percussion and its rhythmic allure with the addition of a trippy drum solo midway through the track.

after he caught our attention several times with a string of releases on such labels as quintessentials for example, we are very happy to introduce skipson as a new artist on our label. his influences can be found somewhere between labels like classic or music for freaks for example. these influences combined with a great passion for detroit house from the likes of kdj or andres create the very own skipson sound that we like so much and that always shows his ability to add something unique to his productions.

the us born and berlin based walker barnard created a unique ep drawing from his years of experience and studio work with sounds as diverse as hip-hop and minimal techno. featuring the legendary us poet and producer mike ladd and a remix from our good friend iron curtis, the result is something completely different and yet strangely familiar.

house hero miguel campbell releases he debut single on the ever-consistent hot creations imprint. >baby i got it< - a mouth-watering mix of sexy disco-tinged house cuts with a dose of murky business from richie ahmed in the remix

terpsichore welcomes the florian muller project with the marvellous >jam with it<. the funky live bass and the amazing deepness of its chords and vocals make this track a must for any deep connoisseur. florian created something special here! the oliverwho factory blessed us with two splendid remixes: hear their vocals and scream! last but not least, what would be a terpsichore release without jefferson velazquezs touch? deep as always!

what do you call musicians like com truise? he seems easy enough to pin down—throw out some words like nostalgia, synth-wave, eighties, and electro-funk and you will scrape by—but to be truly insightful about his music is tough, because art that is so blatantly referencing certain things in a certain way while also making them weird and new and unique is confusing. how do you classify something that is so obviously both vintage and current but is too fun to call postmodern? awesome is an option. especially when it sounds like you are driving the knight rider car through thick clouds of nitrous oxide, like >fairlight<, the title track from truises new single, which previously appeared on an iso50 comp called dry waves and also has this jarring, falling-all-over-itself middle section that prevents you from trancing out too hard. >beta eyes<, the track that follows, is even more restless, with a drum pattern that is fidgety and clustered, kicks and snares fighting each other like two drum and bass heads arguing over an atari remote. >polyhurt<, a narcotic, almost ballad-like closer that inevitably leaves you thinking, >now, how the hell am i going to describe that to someone?< the vinyl exclusive cut >colorvision< could be truises most dancefloor friendly track yet.

three more disco throbbers courtesy of em vee aka marcel vogel and the always on-point lumberjacks in hell imprint. the entirety of the a-side is given over to jam >body heat<, a phat, james brown sampling slice of shoulder thrusting funk that you may have already heard in the more discerning discotheques across europe. wisely, the two b-side cuts offer something completely different, with the loose drums and squealing brass of gospel-sampling >the shouting< a perfect counterpoint to the uptempo disco-strut of >mouzon<.

for the second remix sampler we have dosem from spain - every fan of electronic music will be aware of his recent productions on tronic or sino - finding the perfect balance of melodies and dancefloor-appeal once again! with his moody approach, nick curly (together with production partner gorge) from the now-famous mannheim area, pays respect to the melodious vibe of the original track delivering another highlight of the package. last but not least we have a remix by one of the most recent break new soil contributors: patrick siech, truly one of the producers of sweden s new school of techno, chose echelon and transformed the already massive original into something even bigger.

get ready for a new exciting collaborative project on electric deluxe! >workshops< is a new experimental series of releases by phil kieran and jochem paap (aka speedy j). the idea behind this project is to explore the recording techniques used in the middle of the 20th century and dating right back to the mid 1950s. famous inspirational places like bbc radiophonic workshops in england and philips lab in holland have seen some of the most innovative production techniques, experimenting with the first use of stereo, modular synths, found sounds and reel to reel tapes. the end result was always something space age and promisingly futuristic and still to this day fresh sounding, crisp and exciting. phil kieran and jochem paap have decided to use this inspiration to effortlessly accomplish marrying the past, present and future in an innovative mix of old ideas with new.

paris is in the house! here you can taste the flavour of some kind of proper parisian house. the two guys from sucre sale offer two deep but punchy house tracks, wich reflect in a certain extent this citys state of mind, what looks superficial can also be cleverly structured - thats the case for this ep, something fresh, positive, well produced and executed. the perfect soundtrack for this spring!

raoul records is very happy to welcome liviu groza for the fourth release of the label. after his china charm ep on cityfox just before this summer, he is back with 3 tracks that fit perfectly with the sound of the label. it certainly has something to do with house and techno, but livius personal touch is quickly modifying our expectations, for the pleasure of our ears. there is an authentic energy in livius work and the a-side track >no love< is a perfect example of that. what starts with a typical filtered techno loop is suddenly brought to another level with a huge melodic bass line and then with two chords that enlight the track with a certain melancholy. the b-side starts with another killer bass line. >the manimals< bass line is a snake that enrolls its body around every other element: a great house groove and an hypnotic piano. liviu is a snake charmer! the 3rd track >mean fine< seems to be the perfect b2 track. what sounds rather quiet and reduced when you first listen to it, turns itself into an efficient old school dj tool with such groovy hats and hypontic vocals once played on a proper sound system!

the first vinyl release of the record label was born from the mind and the taste of freddy k. a person with many years of experience, which is currently behind k1971 etc.. in the past, one of the minds of elettronica romana, virus, remix shop .. and one of the producers of the old roman techno scene (see acv records etc. ..). the choice of artists is very precise: new artists who have something to say in the future of the techno scene.the first vinyl release is signed conrad van orton. already known by many producers, djs, radio and magazines that specialize in techno. he has many releases already out with its c.r.s. recordings (along with vsk) and beyond. his style is very modern and innovative.

container is a recent moniker of nashville, tennessee resident ren schofield who has been actively shifting about the u.s. playing shows and releasing cassettes on his mysterious i just live here imprint for a long while now. known primarily for his god willing project, a disjointed, confusing, maze of crude oscillator, tape, and guitar, ren has established himself as a staple in the east coast underground.
here we have a new experiment in electronic beat oriented music. this is no standard fare, however. it glows with a vision all its own, completely isolated and separate making it difficult to place in the awkward world of the genre. the sounds are a thick stew congealing new ideas and naive experiments into something in the ballpark of the new super weird wolfgang voigt 12 inches, abstract and minimal in nature with time stopping tendencies. take those 12 inches and send them thru the garbage can, tape loop, reel to reel experiments of ake hodells >220 volt buddha< or that weird track with lawnmower by charles amirkhanian on the first slowscan volume and we might be getting closer.

murmurs main label returns after more than a years absence with an artist who has undergone something of a transformation of late with a future release set for the revitalised and highly revered >classic< label, marc ashken eschews the more stripped down, minimal beats of past releases to bring together a more phatter, housier sound in collaboration with fabio teti on >don do dat< and floyd lavine on flip side track >do dat<. >don do dat< is s chunky house main room house groover and will no doubt be a key feature in many a djs box over the coming months. flip for the >anonym< remix of >do dat< for a techier workout whilst the original version rounds off the package with an altogether more uplifting jaunt

how do you follow-up last years monster mr.spock? of course with something even more ghetto, more dirty and more fun. lezgo is the 2nd collaboration between justin martin and ardalan, a curious bay area duo of master and apprentice that seems to be magic in the studio. this time they delve deep into the footwork meets house sound delivering cool r&b respites inside mega booty grooves for 3 minutes then letting down the hammer on the kick drum in the finale that kills every time. this is the type of tune that gets everyone moving and smiling and makes you wish you had 10 of them just like it in your bag. i ve played this to every type of crowd from techno chin scratchers to college kids, festival crowds, london know-it-alls, fund raising 40+ year olds, deep house heads, post dubsteppers, basement afterpartiers, hip-hop crews, disco kids and straight up ravers. it works everywhere and thats the sign of a big tune.

next up on the label is this brilliant two-tracker from instra:mentals jon convex. serving as a taster of his forthcoming debut solo album its a hugely impressive 12 inch with both sides demanding your attention. theres a nice old skool eerie, electro feel throughout and the tracks manage that nifty trick of sounding like something from the past and the future at the same time.

suicide dubs sister label league of the shamed is something that will scare the life out of you! this filthy 12 inch comes with two disturbing tunes from label owner high ranking and one part of the hench crew wedge. >escape from the hood< is soul destroying experience, with the calm before the storm this one drops hard! with its big tearing bass and crazy drum edits this one is gonna hit where it hurts! >puppet master< brings a eerie, spooky feel to it, this is halloween with sub! with its rolling growling bass that sits nicely under a haunting piano riff, this is a must for anyone who likes it dark!
